Backup service
Chameleon Net has implemented a highly sophisticated backup system for its hosting customers.
The solution uses dedicated hardware called DC Protect to intelligently backup files based on their content. Files that never change and replicated files found on multiple servers (e.g. system files), are only backed up once but are stored indefinitely.
This approach massively reduces storage requirements and enables backups to be disk-based which means restores are effective, quick, and error free thus minimising downtime. In addition, the backup window for each server is also drastically reduced compared to conventional backup regimes.
